Phosphorescent Pigments

Phosphorescent pigments can be used in acrylic dispersions, oil-based paints or varnishes. The pigments store light and afterglow for a certain time after the light source has been removed. The best light source is UV light, but these pigments are not lightfast, i.e. the more the color is exposed to light, the faster it fades. Acids or acidic binders destroy the pigments.
